Cookie Policy

The short version

The public-facing pages on jmtsanitation.com do not set any tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. The only cookies on the site are strictly-necessary session cookies used by JMT staff to sign into the admin area, which the public never interacts with. That's why you didn't see a consent banner.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser by a website you visit. Cookies can also be set by other services embedded on a page (third-party cookies). They are commonly used for login state, shopping carts, language preferences, and ad/analytics tracking.

Cookies we set

Strictly necessary — admin area only. When a JMT staff member signs in to manage the site at /admin, Supabase Auth sets a session cookie so the staff member doesn't have to re-enter the password on every page. These cookies are essential to the service and are exempt from consent under the EU ePrivacy Directive and comparable U.S. guidance. They are not set for normal site visitors.

  • sb-*-auth-token — Supabase Auth session token. HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax. Expires on sign-out or after ~1 week of inactivity.

No tracking, advertising, or third-party analytics cookies are set on any page of this site. Specifically: no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight, no TikTok, no advertising network cookies, no behavioral profiling.

Cookieless tools we do use

We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, both of which are cookieless. They give us aggregate page-view counts and load-time data without identifying you, and they do not write to your browser's cookie jar or localStorage. They run for everyone — no consent required under the ePrivacy Directive because no information is stored on or accessed from your device.

Browser storage we do touch

The contact form briefly holds the photos you select in your browser's memory while it resizes them for upload. That's not a cookie and is cleared as soon as you submit the form or close the tab.

Mapbox, which powers the address autocomplete, may use a small amount of localStorage to cache map tiles you've already loaded. This is purely functional and does not identify you. You can clear it from your browser settings at any time.

If our cookie use ever changes

If we add a cookie-based analytics tool, advertising tracker, or any other cookie that requires consent, we will:

  • Block the cookie from loading until you accept it through a clear consent banner;
  • List every new cookie here with its name, purpose, expiry, and provider;
  • Update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.

Browser-level controls

All major browsers let you block or delete cookies, including strictly-necessary ones. Doing so will not affect the public pages of this site but will prevent admin staff from signing in. Common shortcuts:

  • Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
  • Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions
